Selection Criteria
Camper Sessions are illness specific and applicants must have a diagnosis fitting one of the camper sessions.
Camp Soaring Eagle is a camp for children with serious or chronic conditions, who due to their medical condition are unable to attend typical summer camp.
Children must be between the ages of 7 and 17.
Children must have a cognitive level of 7 years or above and be able to function within a group (not need 1:1 behavioral attention).
Children must be within four years of active treatment or actively experiencing the challenges of a chronic childhood condition .
Children must be able to communicate needs, whether via speech, sign language, or other communication devices.
Children must be socially competent, not exhibiting unwanted behaviors which warrant removal from a group activity or setting.
