About the camp
2018 was an incredible year for Camp Soaring Eagle. This past year we conducted ten camping sessions and brought smiles to the faces of 600 children and family members.
We welcomed families who have recently received a cancer diagnosis to two family retreats at the Briar Patch Inn in Sedona. We hosted six camper weekends at the Jackpot Ranch in Camp Verde and expanded the illness groups we serve with the addition of muscular dystrophy and juvenile diabetes. Our travel program was the largest ever, 30 children with a variety of illnesses including hemophilia, sickle cell, cancer, and metabolic syndrome travelled to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut. This was made possible thanks to a generous donation by Southwest Airlines who donated all of the airfare for this trip. 18 campers also traveled to the Double H Ranch in upstate New York where they enjoyed a week on the Finger Lakes, trips to the amusement park, horseback riding and more.
Camp is a magical place where kids can let down their guard, make new friends and build their self confidence.
As you browse our website, we hope you gain additional insight into the camp experience and how these programs are so rewarding for the children and families who struggle daily with pediatric illness.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we aim to provide fun and enriching camping experiences to 1000 children and family members in 2019. These are challenging times and our goal is high, but so is the number of deserving children who are suffering each day with serious illnesses. I sincerely hope we can count on you to help us send 1000 children to camp next year.
Thank you one and all who have supported Camp Soaring Eagle and helped us grow during these past few years. We couldn’t do it without generous supporters like yourself.
